Boliqueime is a small town and a community (about 5,000 inhabitants) in the county of Loulé.

Coordinates: 37° 7′ N, 8° 9′ W

The main place is situated north of the N125 which runs through the district Fonte de Boliqueime.


The town hall and the administration of the community are located in the town center.  


Banks, the post, restaurants, cafés and shopping facilities are in town. 


Boliqueime has evolved into a popular residence. Due to its location at the southern slope of a hill one has a far-reaching view over the coast and the sea.  


Many secondary roads are very narrow. In spite of this fact one has to expect contraflow. 


Igreja Matriz de São Sebastião de Boliqueime

The church was constructed in the year 1759, since the old church from the 16th century had been completely destroyed because of the earthquake in 1755.
