Fuseta is a small town and a former community (about 1,920 inhabitants) in the county of Olhão. In 2013 it has been blended together with Moncarapacho into the community of União das Freguesias de Moncarapacho e Fuseta.

Coordinates: 37° 3′ N, 7° 45′ W

The small town is situated by the N125, directly on the Atlantic coast. In the town area and at the harbour are many parking facilities.

Fuseta (formerly Fuzeta) was already mentioned in a document in 1572. The offshore island and the mouth of the river provided natural conditions for a secure harbour.

Fuseta is a fishermen’s village and a modern resort at the same time. At the harbour, fishermen pull their boats nearly onto the pavement.

You can take a boat from the harbour and cross over to the Ilha da Armona. There you find several beaches. Especially the beach at the harbour being protected by the island can be recommended to children and untrained swimmers.

In town are neat fishermen’s houses as well as modern holiday apartments and hotels.

Diverse gastronomic establishments, the post, banks and shops are also at your disposal.

Mercado Municipal

Fish is a substantial ingredient on markets. A lot of ice for cooling is important and taken for granted. Quality and freshness are impressive.

Vegetable and fruit are harvested in the community and offered on the market directly by the grower.
