The Mercado Municipal in Portimão is open from Monday to Saturday.

The market is well signposted coming from Alvor as well as from Ferragudo and there are many parking facilities nearby, immediately on the streets.

The market takes place on the 1st floor of the building.



The range of products is vast. All kinds of food are offered including specialities from the region as well as the tasty sausages and ham.



Freshly caught fish from the near Atlantic.



Scaling fish …. Of course the fish is prepared to be ready to cook.



A particular speciality are the goose barnacles (type of crab). These animals are collected from rocks in the surf of the Atlantic (Portugal and Northwest Spain), only by specialists and at high risk.
