How to get there

How to get there by plane:
Possible destinations for the arrival by plane are the airports Faro, Lisbon (around 270 km from Faro) and Jerez de la Frontera in Spain (around 280 km from Faro). The journey via Porto (Northportugal) is less recomendable: You have to calculate 6 to 7 hours driving time for the approximately 560 km distance to the Algarve.

How to get there by car:
Basically, there are two routes through France and Spain. 
Route 1: Paris - Tours - Bordeaux - San Sebastian - Burgos - Salamanca - Badajoz - Beja - Algarve. 
Route 2: Lyon - Orange - Perpignan - Barcelona - Valencia - Murcia - Sevilla - Huelva - Algarve. 
Which one is the best track for you, this depends on your starting point. On both routes you are charged with high tolls.

How to get there by train: 
It is reasonable to travel via: Your hometown - Lisbon - Tunes (Algarve). 

How to get there by a long-distance bus: 
In many European cities regular trips by long-distance busses to Lisbon are offered. You can take a bus from there 
to go to several towns in the Algarve. Alternatively, you can take the train to Tunes (Algarve).
