Odeceixe is a small town and a community with around 1,000 inhabitants in the northwest of the Algarve. It is situated by the river Ribeira de Seixe which represents the natural border to the Alentejo.

Coordinates: 37° 26′ N, 8° 46′ W

A windmill being still in working order sits upon a hill and can be seen for miles around.

The streets of the small town are winding and partly quite narrow. The access with trailer and big caravans is impossible and prohibited.

The windmill can be visited. You can view the town and the landscape from there right up to the Atlantic and the Alentejo.

The small town has banks, a post office, a number of restaurants, cafés, bistros and shops.

The church appears unimposing from the outside, in the inside it surprises with an arch of triumph and a nice choir.
